I’m a classical pianist and need a decent metronome. At first this one was fine and I really liked all the options as well as the look of it. The adds were annoying, but just one click to get past them. However, the past two times I opened it it put up an add with no way to close it out, no matter how much time you waited. Basically in order to use the metronome you were forced to start a trial of something not wanted. After several times of closing it and restarting it I have just erased the app and will go download another metronome that doesn’t try to force me to buy something I don’t want.
Update on 7/28:
Just received a response months later from the developer of this app with the usual response about ads being necessary to keep the app free. Obviously they didn’t bother reading my comment. Of course ads are necessary to have a free app and I have no issue with seeing them or having them appear. The problem is this metronome app, after years of use by me in music practice, all of a sudden had an ad that, instead of watching it for 15 seconds or so and x-ing out of it to go back to the main app, the only way to continue using the app was to purchase the product advertised. Only then could you go back to the app. This is unacceptable and somehow seams like it shouldn’t be allowed. Adds are meant to make people aware of products and services and make them want to use them, not force unwanted products in order to continue with basic operations. I’ve started using another metronome app as there are many to choose from. This one also has ads in order to keep it free but it does them in the normal way that is perfectly acceptable.
